Austria scope

Select Austria under Settings → General before choosing the Twilio Messaging Service. MerchantWire SMS uses one domestic two-way numeric sender so customers can reply to order texts.

Sender and routing requirements

• Use exactly one Austrian SMS-capable domestic long-code sender.
• Twilio supports two-way SMS and domestic long codes in Austria.
• International numeric sender IDs can be overwritten, so MerchantWire SMS requires a domestic two-way sender.
• Twilio's Alpha Sender ID preregistration becomes mandatory October 1, 2026; MerchantWire SMS does not use Alpha Sender IDs.

Customer language and consent

Supported customer locale: de-AT. MerchantWire uses an affirmative, unchecked cart opt-in and records the consent time, country, locale, disclosure version, and consent disclosure version for the selected country. A phone number alone is not treated as consent.

STOP, START, and HELP

Keep Twilio Advanced Opt-Out enabled. Configure the automatic replies with the customer-facing store identity and support contact, using the customer's supported language where applicable. Run the MerchantWire STOP → START → HELP verification before activation.

Final checklist

• Austria is selected under Settings → General.
• The Messaging Service contains exactly one supported domestic SMS-capable long-code sender.
• No Alpha Sender ID or short code is present in the selected Messaging Service.
• Text Messaging Policies were reviewed after selecting the country configuration.
• Customer Text Consent is active on the published theme.
• Secure connection verification passes.
• STOP / START / HELP verification passes.
• A test SMS reaches a phone you control in Austria.
