MerchantWire SMS

MerchantWire SMS

Setup tutorial

Complete the app's readiness checks before turning on live order texts.

1. Open MerchantWire SMS in Shopify Admin. No separate MerchantWire login is required.

2. Choose the messaging country. Confirm the sender and registration requirements shown for that country.

3. Review the Shopify subscription. Confirm the 30-day trial and the $9.99 monthly or $99.99 annual option. Twilio charges are separate.

4. Connect Twilio. Enter the Twilio Account SID, Standard API Key SID, and API key secret. Select the Messaging Service with the supported two-way numeric sender MerchantWire should use.

5. Complete the connection and reply checks. Verify the secure connection and use a controlled handset to test STOP, START, and HELP.

6. Review Text Messaging Policies. Enter the store's customer support contact, review the proposed SMS policy additions, publish the approved changes, and verify both policies.

7. Enable Customer Text Consent. Open the published Shopify theme, enable the MerchantWire app embed, save, and verify the cart on desktop and mobile. A new customer's consent must be an affirmative choice.

8. Review the messages. Check the ready-made templates, ordinary wording, available order details, preview, SMS segment count, and timing. Save any changes.

9. Send and verify. Send a test to a controlled handset, finish setup, explicitly enable order texts, create a test order or fulfillment event, and confirm final handset delivery separately from a Sent status.

Before relying on customer delivery

  • Confirm the selected Twilio sender is approved and ready for the messaging country.
  • Verify the actual storefront consent experience and published policies.
  • Test delayed-message cancellation when an order state makes a pending message irrelevant.
  • Verify optional customer commands only return information for an authorized order context.
  • Keep live sending off until the complete setup is ready.
